FIRE

FIRE

They call it chemo, but what it's like is, the worst sunburn you ever had. You want to scream. I did scream sometimes.
What you have to tell yourself is, it's not you being attacked. Even though it feels like it. Even though you want to yell out, “What did I do to deserve this? What am I being punished for?”
You know why they burned witches? To purify them; to burn the evil out of their flesh. If the flesh had to suffer in the process, what was that to Eternal Damnation? Weren't you lucky to only endure Man's fire for a while. rather than that of Hell for Eternity'?
That's how I felt. Like a witch at the stake. Enduring the fire to defeat the Enemy.
And you know what? I did. I drove it out. I suffered torments I could never have imagined, but I came through the fire and now I am whole. And my enemy is defeated.
Amen.
